International Churches Partner with CIDEL to Educate African Orphans
For several years, the International Center for the Development of Leadership Ethics (CIDEL) has been making a significant impact in the lives of orphans in the Central African Republic (CAR). CIDEL has become a beacon of hope for these young individuals by offering them scholarships to both public and private universities. Thanks to the generosity of Charis churches around the world, CIDEL is currently helping 27 orphans pursue higher education through the Daniel Project Scholarship.
This initiative is already making a huge impact. The first students who received scholarships have earned their Bachelors and Masters degrees in fields such as public health care, economics, and primary education. This accomplishment testifies to the generosity and compassion of all the believers around the world who rallied to support these orphans. In addition to equipping these students with an education, CIDEL also equips them with spiritual, moral, and ethical values so they can reform their communities.
The students recently completed a 13-week intensive training on the power of habits. The training was based on a course titled “Habits: The Images that Shape Leadership Habits and Attitudes,” which was designed by Dr. Tim Elmore, President of Growing Leaders in Atlanta, Georgia. After completing the training, the students gave presentations which showed their significant growth in Christian values and character. Everyone was so proud of them and confident in their ability to shape their communities for God’s Kingdom!
The training feedback session, captured in photos, highlights the students' progress and commitment. Looking ahead, a summary conference will be held to distill the 13 lessons into 13 principles of ethical living. This event will culminate in a Certificate award ceremony, presided over by the Rector of Bangui University, scheduled for July 3 or 5, 2024.
As the Director of CIDEL and Charis Alliance Liaison for the Africa Region, Dr. Hibaile Augustin tells the international church, “I extend my heartfelt gratitude for your prayerful support.” The impact these scholarships made was so much bigger because of all the international churches that gave to the Daniel Project.
Together, we are nurturing the next generation of leaders who will champion moral and ethical reform in their communities.
