Independent Church-Planters Across Africa Commit to Collaborating

Imagine having 10 siblings who live in different countries and seeing them all come together to connect and collaborate with each other. Wouldn’t that be a heartwarming sight? That’s what’s going on among Charis churches in Africa right now.

Each country has its own national association of Charis churches with its own leadership structure, president, and various departments. Each country has its own autonomous church-planting department, but they all recognize how much they’d all benefit from coordinating and collaborating together. That’s why 10 or more African church-planting leaders recently committed to meeting with each other every year or so.

They are calling this initiative CPRIA (Comité de Pilotage des Implanteurs de la Région d'Afrique), which translates to “Africa Region Implementers Steering Committee.”

And these leaders aren’t geographically close to each other, either—they’ll have to travel from all over the continent to attend these meetings. And they’ve invited three Encompass leaders to join them as advisors and sub-advisors.

What a joy it is to see these independent church planters operating in interdependence! We can’t wait to see all the new opportunities God gives them to encourage each other, share resources, and strategize together so they can reach Africa even more effectively.
